We split our four spread plays last Sunday. The Bears and Vikings both blew out their competition from the position of road underdogs, however Baltimore could not bypass the Jaguars as 4.5 point home favorites and, as slight dogs the Saints got steamrolled at the Washington Redskins. Following week 11's mixed results against the spread, our record picking sides in NFL games stands at 27-22-2 this year.
On the other hand, consistent with solid season to date performance, our totals wagers fared better last Sunday. The under in the Dolphins/Eagles matchup was never in question, and Vikings/Raiders over also cashed in -- thanks to a rushing touchdown from Adrian Peterson with less than two minutes remaining. Only the combined score of the Panthers/Titans disappointed. Despite a fast start that saw a total of 24 points in the first half, Tennessee's offense stalled in the latter quarters and the over finished 7 points shy of the cover. Our totals play are a smart 15-10-1 in aggregate, after going 2-1 Sunday.
We kicked off week11 with a Thursday Night Football play that led bettors to the cashier's window at the end of the night. Our work identifies the following eight NFL wagers for tomorrow that we hope will keep the momentum rolling.
[As always, bets are reported as we laid them, including actual vigs paid shown in parentheses, and our median line estimate presented in brackets.]
St. Louis Rams @ Baltimore Ravens -2.0 (-110) [BAL -4.3]
Denver Broncos @ Chicago Bears o40.5 (-110) [43.4]
Dallas Cowboys @ Miami Dolphins +1.0 (-110) [MIA -2.8]
New York Jets @ Houston Texans o40.5 (-110) [43.3]
Indianapolis Colts +6.0 (-110) @ Atlanta Falcons [ATL -5.0]
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Philadelphia Eagles -5.5 (-110) [PHI -7.3]
Kansas City Chiefs -3.0 (-110) @ San Diego Chargers [KC -3.1]
San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks o39.5 (-110) [40.9]
This week's action is especially well supported by the numbers. In fact, three of our week 11 plays are endorsed unanimously by the factors in our stable -- a fairly rare phenomenon. There are also several games where only one or two factors cast a disparate outlook. Given the rather extreme clustering evident currently, we expect that Sunday's proceeding will yield a more consequential outcome than the 4-3 showing one week prior. While we can not be sure the result will be favorable, we have a good feeling.
Happy betting!!
