Philadelphia 76ers + 8 -110 vs New Orleans Pelicans
Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana

We are siding with the road dogs at Smoothie Center this evening. We note that of the seven instances this season where New Orleans has been expected to win, the Pelicans beat the number only once. Tonight New Orleans is not only the favorite, but Pelicans backers must lay the biggest chalk of the season. In our estimation, covering -8 is asking too much of the second-youngest team in the League, as, in spite of Anthony Davis' dominance down low, the Pelicans have yet to learn how to win.
Conversely, at 4-18, Philly sits three games behind New Orleans, record-wise. However, the Sixers are a serviceable 12-10 against-the-spread on the season, compared to the Pelicans 9-13 ATS report card. Moreover, the 76ers have proved proficient from the position of big underdog, as is evidenced by their 3-1 ATS record this year when receiving eight points or more. Also, the 76ers have covered each of the last two games against the Pelicans, and three of the last four.
Happy betting!!
