Kansas City Chiefs +10 -130 @ New England Patriots
Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts
September 7, 2017, 5:30 PM Pacific
Our power rankings framework makes the Pats to be about 6-8 points superior to the Chiefs at Gillette Stadium this evening. Similarly, our multi-sim model gives the defending champs an advantage of between 7.6-9.0 points in the inaugural contest for the 2017-2018 NFL season. As such, we are compelled to back the road dogs plus 10.
We note that the Chiefs were a meager 9-7 ATS last (regular) season, while the Pats were a lights out 16-3. Also, we are aware that, in head-to-head play, the home team is 5-2 versus the number in the last seven contests. However, Kansas City is 4-3 ATS in the most recent outings against the Patriots, and the Chiefs finished the regular season 10-2 (after sputtering in through week 4). Our objective indicators suggest the Chiefs will hang around tonight.
We are also alert to the potential for Tom Brady to finally start showing his age this season.
Happy betting!!
