Kansas City Chiefs -3 -115 @ Oakland Raiders O.co Coliseum, Oakland, California
October 19, 2017, 5:25 PM Pacific
Our power rankings work expects the Chiefs to bounce back from last week's disappointing loss to the Steelers, which snapped Kansas City's run at a perfect season at five games. Our work makes KC more than 4 points better than the Raiders this afternoon, so we are comfortable laying the field goal.
Consistent with our expectation for the Chiefs to rebound this evening, we note that last season Kansas City was a perfect 4-0 versus the number following a loss; the Chiefs are 10-6 ATS over the last three seasons after tasting defeat.
Further, over the last ten years the Raiders are 3-5 both straight up and against-the-spread playing on Thursday night.
Kansas City also holds the edge in head-to-head action, having covered in four of the last five and six of the last meetings with the Raiders.
While the Raiders offense was top-ten last season, so far this year Oakland has proved (at best) average with the ball. For instance, Oakland's DVOA is 1.2% -- very close to zero. Further, the Raiders rank 18th by points scored, 30th by yards per play and dead last by yards per game.
Happy betting!!
