May 11th NBA Action: LA Clippers @ Toronto Raptors

Expect the Clippers to feast on a depleted Raptors: LA -11.5

The Clippers fell to the Knicks at Staples Center Sunday, 106-100, despite being slated as 8-point favorites for the affair. LA's typical elite defense held, as New York mustered a below-the-League-average 111 points of offense per 100 possessions, however, the Clips struggled to score at the rim and converted an uncharacteristically low rate from behind the arc, resulting in a meager 104 points per 100 possessions for the second most prolific offense in the NBA.

We expect this recent setback sets the stage for a cover Tuesday, and are comfortable backing the big favorite in Toronto.

Teams laying chalk away after sufferimg surprise losses that cap extended home stands have tended to find their mojo, historically.

Backing teams from this spot has delivered a statistically significant 24% long-term return, including an 8-4 ATS run this season.

Separately, LA's competition in their last five games boasted a combined record of 186-135 (58%) at the time of the meetings, and includes four contenders. The Clippers lost three of these contests.

The Raptors too have faced a cluster of winning teams of late. has a solitary win in their last five games to show for it.

These teams' parallel struggles of late also supports the Clippers cover, we think.

Historically, road favorites have proven the play in action featuring contenders from the prior post-season that have each won no more than two of their last five.

This latter system has delivered a statistically significant 17% long-term return, and is 11-6 versus the number this season.

Toronto will manage Tuesday without the services of Kyle Lowry, Fred Van Fleet, Pascal Siakim or OG Anunoby.

Thus, a couple of separate, consistently profitable, history-based systems on our BetLabs dashboard point to the Clippers minus the big points Tuesday. We are wagering accordingly.

Happy betting!!
